Group Exhibition and the Museum Collection

Summer is sinking slowly southwards, making way for high winds to rise, leaves are fading and falling. It is autumn, and high time for our final exhibition of the year. We have hand-picked a colourful selection of 20 widely divergent artists and some of them will exhibit their works for the first time in our museum. If you click on their names below, some of their finest works will pop up. All their works are new and very different in subject matter and technique.

This year we have had several big exhibitions on a single theme (Dear Animals, the 9th Independent Realists Exhibition), as a result of which we didn't have any room for the museum collection. Now there is, and we are happy to show some new acquisitions as well. In short, a visit would be very worth your while.

You can visit us until December 17th. After that we will have our annual winterstop, which will last until the middle of February. There is even a small chance that the current exhibition is the last one to be held in Venhuizen. Yes, for we are going to move - with our museum - to a new town in the north of our country, to Appingedam. But, if everything goes as we think it will, our very last exhibition will be held in Venhuizen in February 2007. We hope to open our new museum in Appingedam in the autumn of next year, with the 10th Independent Realists Exhibition.
