Winter-closing until Februari 2001

As usual, Museum Mhlmann is closed between December 15 and Februari 15. This doesn’t mean that we are hibernating, quite the contrary. Since December 20 building workers are working hard on the new wing of our museum. Due to all sorts of obstacles the work was delayed for roughly a month and therefore the new wing will not be ready until somewhere in March 2001. The (entire) Collection Dieuwke Bakker will not be exhibited till then.

After the winter-closing our museum will re-open with a duo-exposition: selfportraits by Rein Pol and recent still-lifes by Rob Møhlmann. Furthermore, from then on there will be a vast stock-exhibition with works of various artists. A flyer with the names of the participating artists will be enclosed with our invititions for each of the six yearly expositions. The information about "who" and "when" will therefore be always up to date.

Meanwhile we are working on a (modest) collection of our own called The Møhlmann Collection. For the moment the collection consists of not more than two handful of names, but they belong to the finest: Wout Muller, Clary Mastenbroek, Maria de Ruiter de Witt (pastel), Ralph Douglas, Henny van der Vegt, Pieter Pander, Reinder Homan (etchings), Jannes Kleiker, Jasper van Putten (etchings) Epco Cordel, Herman van Hoogdalem, Melle (litho) and Dick Oostra.

We hope to see you in good health and spirit in 2001.
