Third Independent Realists Exhibition
Artist-initiative becomes a national event

Since 1998 the painter Rob Møhlmann has organized a yearly Independent Realists Exhibition (IRE) that has acquired national fame. Only renowned colleagues, the Dutch Masters of the 21st century, take part in this important exhibition. Painters that on average have 20 years experience and are of established reputation. Although all are individualists with a strong vision of their own, they have a common base in recognizable reality.

About 35 renowned colleagues each exhibit about three works of their own choice, simply like good colleagues in the gallery of a fellow-artist. A large exhibition that - and that makes it so special - is organized without any form of subsidy or sponsoring, independently of the official art circles. A real treat for the public that only rarely gets the chance to see such high-quality paintings together under one roof.

Book/catalogue

On the occasion of the third IRE, a publication - bound and full-colour - will be avaibable, as was the case on occasion of the first and the second IRE. Realists 2000 will have approximately 120 full-colour illustrations of works of the 35 participating artists. The budding series of catalogues can not only be used for future reference, but already forms an important period piece about - in the broadest possible way - contemporary realistic painting. Food for the today’s art-lovers and to-morrow’s art historians.

Update: "Realisten 2000" has been taken off the market.
